Tips And Tricks

Additional Android Development Tips and Tricks not found elsewhere:

note: for advanced developers

Assuming you have a ADP1 or ADP2 phone, you can get the firmware from:
http://developer.htc.com/adp.html

use the ota firmware for building AOSP (Android Open Source Project) for your ADP phone - see link below

additionally (if you unpackage that file) you can use the system.img file temporarily with the emulator (e.g. to check out the market in the emulator) for the corresponding AVD (e.g. android-1.6 as of Feb 2010)

to do so, first backup the existing system.ing for the emulator then swap it (found in SDK/platforms/android-1.6/images)
please note: again this is temporarily (won't work for debugging or most anything else) and only if you have a ADP phone and know what you are doing - i.e. don't misuse!
