We have wrapped up the book:
Android Essentials

on Apress, by Chris Haseman, ISBN10: 1-4302-1064-8 (but it was buggy and outdated w/o support from author so unfortunately we can't recommend this book - see additional books above)

Source code for this intro book (which we no longer recommend btw) that we went over can be downloaded from this page
